The Chamber of Commerce Beautiful Bakersfield Program is an annual event that honors the people, places, businesses and groups who have contributed to the quality of life of the greater Bakersfield area. The program allows the business community, participating as sponsors of the event, to be involved in a program that promotes and encourages our positive quality of life. A Life Interrupted has been recognized by the Chamber of Commerce and the Bakersfield community in three different categories. In 2003 A Life Interrupted was the recipient of the Humanitarian award, in 2005 the program was again honored in the Education category, and in 2008, along with the Bakersfield Police Department, State Farm and Three Way Chevrolet received the Public/Private Partnership Award for our Mobile DUI Crash Exhibit.
